When to relight instead of reshoot.

Fix bad lighting

Dim room, harsh ceiling lights or a grey day: give faces soft, even studio light without filming again.

Match a brand look

Make every UGC clip and ad variation share the same warm, cool or neon mood so the campaign feels shot in one session.

Day to night, sun to sunset

Turn midday footage into golden hour, blue hour or moonlight for storytelling, music videos and trailers.

Product videos

Relight a packshot with a softbox, a dramatic rim or a sunset backlight for each marketplace and ad format.

AI-generated clips

Generated a great shot with the wrong light? Relight it instead of re-rolling the prompt and losing the motion you liked.

Creators & editors

A creative grade that real light reacts to: shadows move, highlights land on faces, not just a colour filter.

04 / FAQ

Video relight FAQ

Guides: how to relight a video, fix bad lighting, golden hour effect.

What is video relighting?
Video relighting changes the light in a video after it was filmed: its colour, direction and softness. Instead of a colour filter that tints every pixel, the AI regenerates the shot so faces, objects and shadows react to the new light source.
How do I relight a video with AI?
Open Light Studio in your Nano Banana dashboard, upload a clip of up to 15 seconds, pick a lighting style such as Golden Hour or Studio Softbox, choose the quality and press Relight. The result is ready in about one to two minutes and you can compare it with the original using a before / after slider.
Does it keep my subject, motion and audio?
Yes. The model keeps the subjects, setting, motion and camera move of your clip and only changes the lighting. The original audio track is preserved.
How long can my video be?
Up to 15 seconds per relight, and at least about 2.5 seconds. The clip is converted to 24 fps. For longer videos, relight the key shots one by one.
Which formats and resolutions are supported?
Upload MP4, MOV or WebM. Export in 480p, 768p or 1080p, in the same aspect ratio as your source or in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9.
Can I fix a video that is too dark or badly lit?
Often, yes. Studio Softbox and Overcast Daylight give even, flattering light on faces filmed in a dim room or under harsh overhead lights. Relighting works best when the subject is visible and in focus in the source clip.
How much does it cost?
Relight is included in every plan and uses credits per second of video: 1 credit per second in 480p, 2 in 768p and 4 in 1080p. A 10-second clip in 768p uses 20 credits. Plans start at €19.99/mo, cancel anytime.
